I am pleased to welcome you as part of the vibrant and committed Waterford community, and I look forward to sharing an exciting 2008-2009 school year with you. When you made the choice of Waterford School for your child, you officially became a member of the Parents’ Association! The membership benefits are many. Our monthly meetings are packed with important information. They also provide opportunities to become acquainted with a friendly and diverse group of parents. Each hour-long meeting, held monthly on the first Wednesday, includes presentations from our talented faculty on relevant school topics, and from wise parents on pertinent parenting issues. You will also not want to miss Nancy Heuston’s school report. You will find these meetings to be one of the best ways to stay informed and to become more integrated into the broader Waterford family. I look forward to seeing you there. Throughout the year you will hear about concerts, plays, athletic events, visiting days, volunteering opportunities, as well as other events and offerings. I challenge you to be as involved as your schedule will permit. The rewards of being an active member of the Waterford community will be immediate: a window into your child’s experience, acquaintance and familiarity with the Waterford faculty and administration, deeper understanding of the Waterford educational goals, new friends, and generally good fun.
