Let me be one of the first to welcome you to the Waterford Community. You have chosen well. When we moved to Utah 5 years ago, we wanted to continue with the academic excellence we had experienced in Massachusetts and we have not been disappointed. Over the past 5 years our children have been able to make tremendous strides in their academic pursuits, opened their eyes to new and wonderful possibilities in the fine arts, challenged their athletic prowess and afforded them many positive and enriching friendships. One of the most valuable decisions my husband Ron and I made as we came to Waterford was to commit to participating as much as our schedule would allow. The rewards were immediate: New friends, acquaintance and familiarity with the Waterford Faculty and administration, deeper understanding of the Waterford educational goals and a little window into our children’s experience, and generally good fun. We have an active parent body which helps round out the relationship between student, teacher, faculty and home support. As president of the Parent Association let me invite you to join us as often as schedules permit and encourage you to participate where ever your interests may lie. Throughout the year you will hear about school concerts, plays, athletic events, visiting days, volunteering opportunities, Parent Association Meetings and well as other school wide and class events. Please mark your calendars now for our Monthly Parent Associations’ Meeting held the first Wednesday of each month at 8:00 am right here in this Assembly Hall. After dropping off children for the day, come join us for informative topics relating to school philosophy, parenting support, showcasing some of the arts and sciences and a look into our children’s’ lives as they journey through Waterford. Once again, Welcome to Waterford and we hope you find your experience as enriching as we have found ours to be.
