SCHOLARSHIP

The Waterford Funded Scholarship is intended for a student who is enrolling in Class I-X whose family demonstrates complete financial need (see income qualification table). This scholarship recognizes the unique and unusual contributions the student brings to Waterford, such as strong academic accomplishments, character, qualities, and special gifts or talents.

The candidate must demonstrate a desire to learn and to develop his or her talents. The student must be ready to study, practice, and achieve in a rigorous academic environment. The applicant’s readiness will be gauged through a review of the student’s academic record, standardized testing, teacher recommendations, personal attributes and interests and talents. Ongoing parental support is essential to the success of Waterford students.

The student will interview with the Scholarship Committee. The student will also submit a written essay to the Committee.
In addition to the above, the applicant's family will be required to complete the School and Student for Financial Aid (SSS) application and submit tax forms to certify income. This service will provide the school with a calculation of the family's need.
The Waterford Funded Scholarship may be a partial to full tuition scholarship. Additional funds may be made available for fees; books, activities and transportation allowance if necessary. In every case, the family is expected to make an appropriate financial contribution to the child’s education.
Final decision for the awarding of the Waterford Funded Scholarship will be made by the Scholarship Committee; deliberations will remain confidential.
An annual review will be made of the student's achievement, merit, conduct, citizenship and participation in the Waterford community.
