Waterford is located in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains. The campus provides a peaceful setting for the experiences of teaching and learning, with views of the mountains soaring into the skies to remind of the opportunities that lie ahead for our students. The youngest child in Lower Schools delights in learning, and the Middle School adolescent is centered by meeting challenge successfully. The young adult in Upper School shares common cause with the faculty as together they explore what others have discovered and created. The emphases may shift from school to school, but the vertical program in academics and the fine arts creates a clear path to learning and coming to understand. ‘Good teachers possess a capacity for connectedness. They are able to weave a complex web of connections among themselves, their subjects, and their students so that students can learn to weave a world for themselves.’ Waterford teachers connect and weave, and their students become scholars and artists, creators and innovators, weavers of the world. As part of a community that is distinguished by warmth, wisdom and a passion for learning, our students are preparing for the changing world into which they will graduate. They move on to colleges and universities to continue to learn broadly, and to become expert in their chosen fields so that they will be qualified to participate in and contribute to the international world. This emerging world without boundaries will have need of people of honor who can think deeply, adjust to data, work with people across cultures.
